**Original Artwork – Pavement Connection VII**
Created in 2018 by Sophie Kyriakopoulou
Medium: Graphite and oil pastel on 90g Clairefontaine paper
Dimensions: 21x14.8 cm (unframed)
**About the Work:**
This piece draws inspiration from my time in Glasgow, where I spent a year studying and walking my rescued dog, Buffy. Buffy's past experience of being starved led her to scavenge, compelling me to notice intricate details on the pavements, steps, and roads. These observations soon found their way into my artwork.
I employed a unique frottage method, blending oil pastel with graphite before application. This technique introduces subtle color alongside the graphite, enriching the texture and depth of the image.
